Blanchfield, Meyer, Kober & Rizzo, LLP is the combination of the merger of two accounting firms, Blanchfield, Kober & Co., P.C. and Meyer & Rizzo CPAs, LLP, which took place on January 1, 2005. Each firm has a long history of providing quality accounting services to its clients.
On February 1, 1977, Charles W. Blanchfield and Robert E. Lackmeyer created the partnership known as Lackmeyer & Blanchfield. In 1951 Stanley H. Meyer started an accounting practice in East Meadow. Bruce A. Meyer joined him in 1976 and the partnership of Meyer & Meyer CPAs was formed in 1978. These companies are the origin of today's firm. Each firm was formed to fill what was perceived to be a void in the accounting profession; a C.P.A. firm that genuinely takes a personal interest in the welfare of its clients. This was then and remains now a primary focus of the firm.
Thomas G. Kober started as a staff accountant with Lackmeyer & Blanchfield on January 2, 1980. He was accepted into the partnership on September 1, 1987. Robert E. Lackmeyer left the firm in 1995.
Alfred Rizzo joined Meyer & Meyer as a college intern, and worked his way up, becoming an equial partner in the firm. The firm changed its name to Meyer & Rizzo CPAs, LLP upon the retirement of Stanley H. Meyer on December 31, 2001, and the firm's move from East Meadow to Melville.
Blanchfield & Kober have occupied our current office inHauppauge since September 1, 1990, moving from the previous location in East Islip. Their first office was a small storefront in Hicksville. The firm moved four times since then, each one necessitated by the need for more space as the firm grew. While the Meyer & Meyer/ Meyer & Rizzo stayed in East Meadow until August 2002, it also moved several times as it grew.
Today the outlook for continued growth and success is greater than ever as the quality of the staff makes a wider range of services available to the clients, current and future, of the combined firm.
