Bruce A. Meyer, CPA, JD, PFS, a Certified Public Accountant, as well as an attorney and a Personal Financial Specialist, has been practicing for more than 20 years with "Big 5", as well as local firms. He has been awarded the Personal Financial Specialist designation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), which recognizes CPAs with considerable professional experience in financial planning. To earn the designation, Mr. Meyer had to pass a technical exam covering personal income tax planning, risk management and insurance planning, and investment, retirement and estate planning.
For over 35 years, he was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Accounting, Tax and Business Law at Hofstra University and received the Hofstra University Distinguished Teaching Award. In addition, Mr. Meyer has lectured to many professional and business organizations on tax, financial and real estate planning.
Mr. Meyer received his BS in Business with a major in accounting from Lehigh University, graduated from Brooklyn Law School and earned an MBA in Taxation and Accounting from Hofstra University. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the AICPA, New York State Society of CPAs, New York State Bar Association and the American Association of Attorney-CPAs.
Alfred Rizzo, CPA, a Certified Public Accountant with more than 15 years experience, is skilled in working with businesses of all types and sizes. He specializes in the intricacies of tax compliance, and like all the members of the firm, attends numerous tax conferences to stay abreast of the changing rules and planning opportunities.
Mr. Rizzo earned a BA in Business Administration from Adelphi University. He is a member of the AICPA and the New York State Society of CPAs.
Charles W Blanchfield. Mr. Blanchfield received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame in 1971, and became a certified public accountant in 1975. He founded the predecessor firm of Blanchfield, Kober and Company in 1977, and has been with the firm since then. A leader in his field, he has been called as an expert witness to testify in divorce cases as well as partner disputes. He specializes in income and estate taxation, as well as not-for-profit organizations. He has worked extensively in business and corporate tax issues and is well versed in the areas of mergers and acquisitions as well as stock buyouts and business valuations.
Mr Blanchfield is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He served as a Rotarian and as president of the Notre Dame Club of Long Island.
Thomas Kober. Mr Kober received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Manhattan College in 1979, and received his CPA in 1985. One year later, he was made a partner in the firm of Blanchfield, Kober and Company. Mr Kober is a specialist in the Sarbones-Oxley compliance requirements as well as construction industry requirements. He has also consulted with public corporations on SEC filings.
Mr Kober is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants where he sits on the Information Technology Division and the Taxation Committee. He is also a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants where he sits on the Real Estate Contractors Committee. He is the former treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for the Long Island Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association, and is also on the board of various charities.
